Phil Ivey could be your best poker player alive. Phil Galfond can be a super-talented player who is respected and respected by his peers.

What’s in common? This terrible power poker trident has amazing technical skills, exudes psychological control, and that they prefer to keep their mouth shut.

Words are violence

All three of them serve food quietly. The opponents can’t stand it. They cannot do it.

However, as every word bursts out of this nervous foam, they showcase every idea as you sit like a wolf looking at a musk ox child with a broken thigh bone.

Want oysters?

As a beginner, I always had something to say. There was a time when the manager called me during an exercise lesson. He sat at this superb bamboo table in the middle of a huge hall.

His hands, the touch of his palms, motioned for me to personally choose a chair. I sat up straight and I didn’t count enough moments, moments of any of the speakers passed.

Finally, he explained, “Would you like oysters?” I laughed, glad that he stole the silence. He did not reciprocate.

“Would you understand what the turtles would do if your oysters opened their mouths and spoke to heaven?”

I didn’t even blink until he answered his own question, “They are throwing a rock into the hole so the oyster cannot close its mouth again. Do you know what happens next? “

I just stared at him, wondering what the hell was going on because he put his hands on his claws, pretending to be a crab devouring a monster that was shitting pearls.

After performing at the theater, the man at the table explained that the board had chosen me as a possible director. Only one person had a problem – that person with the bizarre claws.

I was the noise

I was noise, and also everything of this world meant nothing. Until I wanted to stop breaking the silence and sorting out the voices of the desperate to sing, then I was not going anywhere. In this power poker I was just an oyster, and one day I would have been eaten alive by crabs.

There is a simple notion:

  • People who understand do not speak.
  • People who speak don’t understand.

Who is currently the most talked-about poker player on earth? It’s not Ivy, Antonius, or even Galfond.

He used the hammer of the word to force his resistance into submission. Many believe that Kassouf’s failure was an integral part of the overall game. They set up the “address drama” from the Gamebook along with the scenario rate, fold, and bluff.

With Kassouf at the table, it’s easy to see how people view silence as a weakness. And after that, you see Ivy, Antonius, and Galfond. There are no sounds.

These words are not needed; they both clothe a solution and create a red herring. It is a creative art form to be maintained on the periphery of this dialogue, to glorify the dining table, like a hawk spying on a mouse, even carrying most of a piece without holding out a plate.

“Silence is your toast to this positive yet powerful one,” writes Ryan Holiday in The Ego is your Enemy.

Once you often find someone who cannot contain their voice, you find that they cannot contain themselves. The tongue is often just as difficult to grasp because it is a snake covered in coconut oil.

Discussing a visit to the zoo

Whenever there is a conversation, there is no action. Discussion is your activity.

When you play, power poker requires 100 percent of your energy, and the mention of the pot increases that energy just because they are competing for the same space.

Utterances are unworthy

It will take incredible restraint and composure to dislodge the hype and speak with the action. The action can be a walking safari in South Africa using a Spud-gun in your own peace. Discussing a visit to the zoo.

The discussion could improve the match. Bantering can be a natural shot in the hand. But talking can also ruin the match.

Think of all the idiots who chase the fish away by making them feel dumb. Even the jerk who constantly tells the trader exactly how to finish his job. Men and women talking about bad beats. And self-employed drug addicts who can’t stop discussing their encyclopedic knowledge of this match.

Just stop talking!

How many of you feel the urge to one day become a professional poker player?

How many of you tell friends and family that you have reserved your visit to the World Collection of Poker (WSOP) but have not left your front deck, frozen in place and unable to maneuver as you cannot stop referencing it?

And who could blame you? Facebook would like to understand what is in your head?

This means that you will type until the wrist tube allows you to dip your hands in the stench ice bucket.

Check-in

After this incident, it took me two decades to figure out exactly how to stop talking, and that was too difficult for me. My wife was my best teacher. We check every night. She starts by moving throughout the day, focusing on action or an emotional perspective.

If she was introduced to a specific concept, I couldn’t stop talking. I wanted to renovate; my mind – I indulged her mind with the power poker noise of the orchestra waiting for the man with the pole to appear.

However, she enlightened me about the boundaries. She taught me to distance myself. She taught me to listen to this craft.

Meditation is just another way to incorporate silence into your life. It takes time and the benefits are not so obvious, but the horror of this emptiness comes down to your lullaby.

Then you choose whether you want to include the language drama in your match or cut out your tongue.
